This page publishes our official Terms & Conditions for the Freesnapp mobile app, for your reference.

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Kenneth John V. Saracho ("we", "us", "our"), the developer and publisher of the Freesnapp mobile application (the "App") and its supporting scan service (together, the "Service"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live, if higher) to use the App. By using the App you represent that you meet this requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. The App is not directed at children.

2. What the App Is, and Is Not

Freesnapp is a personal finance record-keeping tool. It helps you log and organize expenses, income, wallets, loans, savings, budgets, and related records that you enter or confirm.

The App does not provide financial, investment, tax, accounting, or legal advice. Nothing in the App, including balances, summaries, charts, savings rates, net-worth figures, budget alerts, or AI-generated suggestions, is advice, a recommendation, or a substitute for professional judgment. All outputs are computed from data you provide and may be incomplete or inaccurate. You are solely responsible for your financial decisions and for independently verifying any figure before relying on it. If you need advice, consult a qualified professional.

3. AI Scanning Features

The App can scan receipts and payslips using on-device text recognition and AI-assisted extraction ("Scanning"). An optional Pro setting, off by default, additionally sends the photo itself for the AI to read directly; see the Privacy Policy for what that means for your data.

Scanning is probabilistic and may be wrong. Amounts, dates, merchants, document types, and categories can be misread, missed, or misclassified. The App always shows you an editable confirmation screen; you are responsible for reviewing and correcting every scan before saving it. A saved entry is your entry, not ours.
Scanning requires an internet connection and depends on third-party AI providers. We may change providers, models, quotas, or the feature itself at any time.
Scan quotas apply by tier (see Section 6) and are measured in scan tokens, not in scans. A scan normally costs one token; a scan resolved from an attached image costs two. Quotas and token costs may be adjusted. Attempting to bypass, spoof, or abuse quotas is a violation of these Terms.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from inaccurate, incomplete, delayed, or failed scan results.

4. Your Data, Your Device, Your Responsibility

The App stores your financial data locally on your device. There is no account and no cloud copy. This is a privacy feature with consequences you accept by using the App:

We cannot access, recover, or restore your data. If your device is lost, damaged, or reset, or the App is uninstalled or its data cleared, your data is gone unless you made a backup.
Backups are your responsibility, via the App's export feature. Exports are encrypted with a password you choose; we never receive the file or the password. If you lose the password, the export is permanently unrecoverable, by design.
In-app deletion tools (clearing data, deleting entries or wallets, "Replace" on import) are immediate and irreversible.
You are responsible for securing your device (screen lock, OS updates) and for anyone you allow to use it.

5. License and Acceptable Use

We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on devices you own or control, for personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms and the rules of the app store you downloaded it from.

You must not: (a) copy, modify, distribute, sell, rent, sublicense, or create derivative works of the App; (b) reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code, except to the extent a law expressly permits it despite this restriction; (c) bypass or attempt to bypass security measures, subscription checks, or scan quotas; (d) access the Service by automated means, probe or overload our backend, or use it for any purpose other than the App's intended operation; (e) misrepresent your subscription tier or interfere with entitlement verification; or (f) use the App for unlawful purposes or in violation of applicable law.

We may suspend or block access to backend-dependent features (such as Scanning), or terminate your license, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms.

6. Free Tier, Subscriptions, and Payments

The App offers a free tier and a paid Pro subscription that unlocks additional features as described in the App (for example, higher scan token limits and scan history). Feature sets, quotas, and prices may change at any time; changes affecting a paid subscription period already in progress take effect from the next renewal.
Purchases and subscriptions are processed by the app store you downloaded the App from (e.g., Google Play) and managed with our subscription provider (RevenueCat). We never receive or store your payment card details.
Subscriptions auto-renew until cancelled. You cancel through your app store account settings; deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
Refunds are handled exclusively under the app store's refund policies. We cannot process refunds directly. To the extent permitted by law, payments are otherwise non-refundable, including for unused periods or unused quota.
Promotional offers, trials, or redemption codes, if any, are discretionary, may carry their own conditions, and may be modified or withdrawn at any time.
Prices may vary by region and are set through the store's regional pricing.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

The Service relies on third-party services, including your app store and its billing system, RevenueCat (subscription management), Google's AI services (scan processing), and our hosting providers. Each is governed by its own terms and privacy policies. The App may also link to external sites (for example, a donation page). We do not control and are not responsible for third-party services, their availability, or their content. Your use of them is at your own risk and subject to their terms.

8. Availability, Changes, and Discontinuation

The App and its features, especially online features such as Scanning, are provided without any guarantee of availability, continuity, or support. We may modify, suspend, limit, or permanently discontinue any feature, the backend service, or the entire App at any time, with or without notice, and without liability to you. Because your financial data is stored on your device, discontinuation of online features does not delete your local data.

9. Intellectual Property and Feedback

The App, including its design, code, branding, and content (excluding your data), is owned by us and protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant you no ownership rights. If you send us feedback, ideas, or suggestions, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free right to use them without restriction or compensation.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE APP AND THE SERVICE ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITH ALL FAULTS AND WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. WE EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT ANY FIGURE, CALCULATION, SCAN RESULT, ALERT, OR OTHER OUTPUT IS ACCURATE OR COMPLETE, THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED, OR THAT THE SERVICE IS FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS. NO ADVICE OR INFORMATION OBTAINED FROM US OR THROUGH THE SERVICE CREATES ANY WARRANTY NOT EXPRESSLY STATED HERE.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW:

(a) WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, SAVINGS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR ANTICIPATED BENEFITS, INCLUDING LOSSES ARISING FROM INACCURATE SCAN RESULTS OR CALCULATIONS, FINANCIAL DECISIONS MADE IN RELIANCE ON THE APP, LOSS OF DATA (INCLUDING FROM LOST OR DAMAGED DEVICES, UNINSTALLATION, FAILED IMPORTS OR EXPORTS, OR FORGOTTEN EXPORT PASSWORDS), OR THE UNAVAILABILITY OR DISCONTINUATION OF ANY FEATURE, EVEN IF WE WERE ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

(b) OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE APP OR THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (i) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US THROUGH THE APP IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (ii) USD 20 (OR ITS LOCAL EQUIVALENT).

(c) These limitations apply regardless of the theory of liability (contract, tort, negligence, statute, or otherwise) and even if a limited remedy fails of its essential purpose. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations; in those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the smallest extent the law allows. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, such as liability arising from our fraud or willful misconduct, or your mandatory consumer rights.

12. Indemnification

To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Kenneth John V. Saracho from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use or misuse of the App or the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms or of applicable law; (c) your data or content; or (d) your violation of any third party's rights.

13. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service (including backend features) at any time if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, or upon discontinuation under Section 8. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 2, 4, and 9–17) survive.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date reflects the latest version. For material changes we will take reasonable steps to notify you (for example, an in-app notice or a notice on our website). Continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the App.

15. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, to the maximum extent their application is permitted, and without depriving you of any mandatory consumer protections of the country where you reside. Subject to those mandatory rules, any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be brought exclusively before the competent courts of the Philippines.

Talk to us first. Before filing any claim, you agree to contact us at support@freesnapp.com and allow thirty (30) days for us to try to resolve the issue informally.

16. Apple App Store Additional Terms

This section applies only if you obtained the App from Apple's App Store: (a) these Terms are between you and us only, not Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the App or its content; (b) your license is limited to use on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service; (c) Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App; (d) in the event of any failure of the App to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the App to you; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation; (e) Apple is not responsible for addressing any product, legal, or intellectual-property claims relating to the App; (f) you represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo and are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties; and (g) Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

17. General

If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted, and the remainder stays in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a transfer of the App or our business. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the App.
